Our Policies & How To Reserve
Accommodation market sites have become too big and impersonal for us, and more automated and controlling. We have decided to only take direct bookings.
We provide in-person guest greeting at check-in to answer any queries and to ensure that you can access all amenities at A B&B on Bay, Acrylic Dreams where we prioritize your comfort and safetly. We respect the privacy of our guests and our goal is to make your stay the best possible.
Note that we have a two night minimum other than to fill up gaps between two longer bookings and to fill last minute cancellations.

How to Reserve

By booking you agree to all of our policies associated with this reservation.
To reserve your suite(s) please email [email protected], use our reservation form, or phone our landline at 519-271-7874 between 10 am and 6 pm with your contact information, desired dates and room choices.
Please refer to rates and understand our policies prior to making your reservation request.
Every effort will be made to respond to you within 24 hours.
Note: We encourage a two night minimum stay. We may be offer a one night stay at a supplemental charge, (see suites and rates), to fill in a space or between two longer stay bookings.
To reserve and confirm your reservation(s) we require a non refundable one night deposit plus applicable taxes, 4% MAT and 13% HST, for each suite and/or room reserved. This is payable by e-transfer, cheque/check, cash, (CDN, U.S. or Euro funds accepted), VISA or MASTER CARD credit cards. Note: for credit card payments 4% commission charges apply and will be added to the total.
The balance is due 14 days prior to your arrival.
Reservations made within 14 days are considered final and binding.
Reservations made within 14 days are considered final and fully charged upon booking and full payment is due at the time of making your reservation.
Note that credit card payments will incur the commission fee.
The City of Stratford has approved the implementation of a Municipal Accommodation Tax, (MAT), to be applied to guestroom charges in every form of accommodation in Stratford in 2023. Despite our best efforts and that of local industry to advocate against its implementation it is proposed to begin on July 1st, 2023, at the rate of 4%. The MAT is provincially legislated and also subject to the Federal HST and as such we do not have the authority to remove it from your bill, but we are entitled to deduct "ancillary charges", before the MAT is charged.
All guestroom charges are subject to:
- Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT) at 4%
- Ontario Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) at 13%
Check in/Check out Times
Check in time is between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. unless arranged otherwise
(We work to facilitate special check in requests when possible.)
Check out time is by 11 a.m. on your day of departure
Parking
Off street parking is available in our double driveway for 1 car per guest room. Our central location supports parking and walking to theatres, downtown restaurants, galleries and shops.
Environmentally Conscious and Sustainable
A B&B on Bay, Acrylic Dreams strives to preserve the natural fertilizing of our many flower beds and we do not use chemicals on our lawns.
In continuing our commitment to save our natural resources and to support recycling, we would ask for your assistance.
If during your visit with us, you have any towels that you would like replaced, just let us know. Plastic water bottles are not put into the rooms as we are trying to be more environmentally friendly.
The tap water is safe to drink and we have a water filter on our fridge and if you wish a carafe for your room and/or refills please ask.
There are separate garbage, recycling and compost receptacles s in each guest suite/room. Kindly use them and if any become full during your stay tell us and we will empty them.
Let us know if you would like your bar fridge to be plugged in before you arrive.
Bring your bikes and lock up outside on a post behind the parking areas or request inside shed storage when booking located at the rear of the property.
Kindly turn off lights and TVs when leaving your room, suite.
We can all do our part to help our planet and reduce emisissions and excess energy use. Thank you!
No Smoking
Enjoy our smoke free environment. Smoking any substance is not permitted. We respect the romance of candles but understand the danger as well. We would ask you to please refrain from burning of candles or incense is not permitted in any of our guest room(s)/suite(s).
Breakfast
Breakfast is served each morning at 9. We ask that you let us know in advance of your arrival if you have any food restrictions or allergies. If you require an early departure or wish to sleep in, there is a keurig or kettle in your room to make coffee or tea and a bar fridge where we can leave some provisions for a continental breakfast the night before if alerted at least 24 hours in advance.
Damages
Guests will be responsible for the cost of repair or replacement of any breakages, missing items or damages to property and furnishings.
Lost Keys
Any keys not returned within 14 days of departure will incur a $50.00 charge to be levied.
Items Left Behind
We ask that you check your suite to make sure that you have not left any of your own possessions before you check out. We can hold things for you to pick up at a determined future date, within a year.
Pets
Puccini, a ginger cat from Mexico resides in our own private quarters. He does not allow other animals on the premises. Hence, we can not accommodate guests travelling with their pets.
Cancellation Policy (We hate to bring this up but just in case...)
We understand that plans unexpectedly change. Cancellations affect us greatly therefore we ask you to agree to the following cancellation policy at the time of booking.
Life changing events do occur. We suggest purchasing trip cancellation insurance from a reputable company so that in the event of disruption to your travel plans, your costs will be covered.
A B&B on Bay, Acrylic Dreams cannot accept responsibility of inclement weather, changes in travel plans, personal sickness or injury, family emergencies etc.
All deposits are non refundable.
No refunds are provided for late arrivals, early departures or no-shows.
(However, you are free to find friends/family to take your place and transfer your accommodations to them for your dates).
